There is no gainsaying when it comes to the importance Nigeria attached to the crunch tie against the Black Galaxies of Ghana on Saturday.
The need to win can also not be trivialized especially with the recent events of Nigeria playing second fiddle at the world cup qualifiers in the men's senior national team and the recent defeat in the first leg of the CHAN qualify.
The question however is, is the Nigeria team poised for a overturn of the first leg result? Are all hands on deck to ensure qualification to the 2023 CHAN tournament?
After the Saturday's defeat, the Super Eagles B team arrived Nigeria to prepare for the tie, but while the focus should be on the team being in good shape for the match, it has been one issue or the other raring its ugly head.
It started with reports of the team finding it difficult to train on a proper pitch, finding it difficult to have access to proper facilities.
Additionally, the CHAN Eagles coach stated that the team is alone and is not been catered for.
"We don't get any moral support, we were all alone, we travel alone, and we came back alone.
Besides, the words of Nigerian football journalist, Fisayo Diaro that the players are yet to be paid a dim since they have been in the camp further spells doom for the team.
In fact, without mincing words, the report of the team been regarded as "orphans" when compared to the Super Eagles continues to be reinforced in the minds of many Nigerians.
The issues therefore are not palatable and do not augur well for the team's chances to do what is a possibility in Abuja.
The NFF has to act fast rewrite these wrongs in order to put the team in the right atmosphere to make the Nation proud over their perennial antagonists.
