Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has described goalkeeper David Raya as a magnificent acquisition after praising his performances since joining the club from Brentford in 2023.
Raya has established himself as Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper and has made 153 appearances for the Gunners. He has kept 72 clean sheets during that time.
The 31-year-old played an important role in Arsenal winning the league title last season. He also claimed the Premier League Golden Glove for the third consecutive season, the award given to the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets.
Arteta was asked about Raya’s contribution before Arsenal’s match against Brighton and whether signing the Spain international was his best transfer.
The Arsenal manager’s assessment reflects the goalkeeper’s consistency since his move from Brentford, with his clean-sheet record and involvement in the club’s title success marking him out as a significant signing.
