Arsenal announced their fourth summer signing this afternoon, with Nigerian midfielder Kelechi Nwakali being unveiled to the fans on Twitter.
Having signed Granit Xhaka, Takamu Asano and Rob Holding, Wenger has secured his fourth signing of the summer with the arrival of Nigerian midfielder Nwakali, who starred at the U17 World Cup. While undoubtedly a promising prospect for the future, an 18 year old Nigerian who few people have heard of is not Arsenal fans’ idea of ‘transfer madness’.
Earlier this week it had been speculated that Arsenal were set for some ‘transfer madness’, leading fans to believe they were set to sign Alexandre Lacazette or some other renowned and recognized striker.
So they’re a little bit underwhelmed by this latest transfer announcement.
Having seen title rivals Manchester United and Chelsea steal a march on them with some spectacular and big name signings, Arsenal fans are beginning to get restless, and are fretting that Wenger won’t go out and spend big on a top player before the window shuts.
