Arsenal Allow Chuba Akpom to Develop at Aston Villa During Season Long Loan

Arsene Wenger appears to be prioritising the temporary offloading of fringe players rather than bringing in new additions to the squad.

Aston Villa, who are currently sitting 13th place in the Championship, are looking to recruit players to spice up their squad and talented Gunners starlet Chuba Akpom seems to be the perfect link.

The 21-year-old forward has only played one game for the Gunners so far this season. He featured in the EFL Cup game which they won 4-0 against Nottingham Forest back in September.

However, he then sustained a back injury which ruined his chances of breaking into the first team. The young striker recently returned from his injury lay-off a few weeks ago however, Wenger does not see him as first team worthy

Looking for first team football, Akpom appears to be happy with a loan move away from the Emirates.

Steve Bruce, who signed Akpom with Hull City last season, is reportedly very interested in signing the talented striker. If the deal were to break through Villa would have Akpom on loan for the rest of the season

During his time with The Tigers he made 41 appearances, and was apart of the team that won the league. He's keen to continue his development in the Championship and reunite with manager, Bruce.

Villa are looking at other alternatives to Jordan Rhodes after a £6million offer was rejected by Middlesbrough last week.
