Aris Limassol announced the signing of the 36-year-old German-Nigerian defender Leon Balogun on a one-year contract on Friday.
He joins the club with a wealth of experience, having played in top leagues such as the English Premier League and the German Bundesliga, as well as participating in the 2018 World Cup.
The Super Eagles defender started with Hertha. In the 2008–09 season, he moved to Hannover 96, where he made his Bundesliga debut.
He has played for Werder Bremen, Fortuna Düsseldorf, and Darmstadt before moving to Mainz 05.
He later moved to the English Premier League to play for Brighton and Hove Albion, then moved on loan to Wigan.
He spent the 2020-22 season with Rangers in Scotland before spending a season with Queens Park Rangers in the Championship. In 2023, he returned to Rangers for another two years.
