Ghana star Andre Ayew was given a massive standing ovation at the Stadium Municipal as he scored to help Olympique Marseille maul Toulouse 6-1 in the Ligue 1 on Friday.
Andre, 25, breached the Toulouse offside trap to control a deflected pass before slotting the ball in between the legs of Zacharie Boucher - the Toulouse keeper, for his sixth league goal of the season.
After the goal, which came in the 78th minute to restore Marseille's four-goal advantage, Andre was replaced in the 81st minute by manager Marcelo Bielsa.
And, then came the moment of gratification for his brilliance on the night as virtually the entire stadium stood up the applaud the effort of the Ghana deputy captain.
Most extraordinarily, Toulouse fans led the appreciation showing gesture by standing up to applaud Andre.
The winger's future at Marseille has come under discussion as his current running contract will finish in the summer.
