Andre Ayew can say whatever he wants, but we'll beat Ghana - Algerian Bentaleb

Published on: 21 January 2015

Algerian midfielder Nabil Bentaleb has responded to Andre Ayew’s view on Friday’s showdown against Ghana, insisting the Marseille man can say ‘whatever he wants’ but they will have the last laugh.

The two sides clash in Mongomo in their second group C game which is more crucial for the Ghanaians.

The Black Stars must win against the Desert Foxes after losing their opener against Senegal as the Desert Foxes stormed back to for a decisive 3-1 win over South Africa.

Ghana winger Andre Ayew remains optimistic about their chances against the Algerians, saying they are capable of stopping the high-flying African side.

But Bentaleb, who plays for English side Tottenham Hotspurs, is unperturbed and says they will grind out a win against the West Africans.

“Ayew is allowed to speak. He can say what he wants. We only focus on ourselves and we do not give importance to others. We know what is at stake and Friday will decide,” he said

“ It'll be a very difficult game. If stay focused and keep the same mindset displayed against South Africa. We know we can do better."
