Ampem Darkoa Ladies reached the final of the UFOA B Women’s tournament after beating Dynamique FC 4-1 in a one-sided semi-final.
The Ghanaian side made a fast start and established control of the match early on, with Milot Abena opening the scoring in the 17th minute. Ampem Darkoa continued to apply pressure and extended their advantage before half-time through Rebecca Assemani and Gloria Adamako.
Those two goals gave the Ghanaian team a three-goal lead at the interval and left Dynamique FC facing a difficult task after a dominant first-half display from their opponents.
Dynamique FC responded immediately after the restart. They reduced the deficit in the 47th minute, giving themselves a possible route back into the contest.
However, Ampem Darkoa restored their three-goal advantage in the 66th minute when Milot Abena Pokuaa scored for the second time in the match. The goal ended any prospect of a Dynamique FC comeback and put the Ghanaian side firmly in command once again.
There was still time for another notable incident in stoppage time, when Victoria Banful missed a penalty after sending her attempt too far across the goal. The failure to convert did not affect the outcome, with Ampem Darkoa comfortably completing a 4-1 victory.
The result sends Ampem Darkoa Ladies into the final of the UFOA B Women’s tournament, which serves as a qualifying competition for the CAF Women’s Champions League. They will face Edo Queens of Nigeria in the deciding match.
Ampem Darkoa’s progress was secured by their clinical first-half performance and their ability to respond when Dynamique FC scored soon after the interval. Although the French-speaking side managed to find a goal in the opening minutes of the second half, the Ghanaian team quickly re-established control through Milot Abena Pokuaa’s second goal.
The missed late penalty was therefore inconsequential, as Ampem Darkoa’s four goals had already put the match beyond Dynamique FC’s reach. Their victory now leaves them one match away from winning the regional tournament and securing the opportunity associated with qualification for the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Edo Queens will provide the opposition in the final after Ampem Darkoa completed their semi-final with a clear three-goal margin. The Ghanaian side will go into that meeting after a performance in which they scored early, built a substantial advantage before half-time and dealt effectively with Dynamique FC’s brief second-half response.
