Ampem Darkoa Ladies have named their starting line-up for Wednesday’s UFOA B Women’s Tournament semi-final against Dynamique FC, with a place in the final and qualification for the CAF Women’s Champions League at stake.
The second semi-final is scheduled for 19:00 GMT. The winners will face Nigeria’s Edo Queens in the final.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies have reached the last four with a perfect record in the group stage, winning all three of their matches. The Ghanaian side began with a 1-0 victory over ASEC Mimosas before recording a more emphatic 4-0 win against AS GNN.
Their final group match brought another success, as they defeated Edo Queens 2-1. That result means the two teams will meet again if Ampem Darkoa Ladies overcome Dynamique FC.
Dynamique FC’s route to the semi-final has been less straightforward. They opened the tournament with a heavy 3-0 defeat by USFA, but recovered to earn a goalless draw against ASKO de Kara.
The result against ASKO de Kara gave Dynamique FC the response they needed after their difficult opening game and set up Wednesday’s meeting with the unbeaten Ghanaian team.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies will start with Rose B. in goal. Victoria B. will captain the side, with Patience A., Maltiti M. and Rebecca A. also named in the line-up.
Asana H., Patricia A. and Beline N. provide further options in the starting team, while Gloria A., Milot P. and Evelyn A. complete the XI.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ three victories in the group stage have made them the form team heading into the semi-final. Their defensive record includes clean sheets against ASEC Mimosas and AS GNN, while they also showed their attacking threat in the four-goal win over the latter.
Dynamique FC, however, progressed after responding positively to their first-match setback. Their 0-0 draw with ASKO de Kara leaves them with the opportunity to reach the final and challenge for a place in the CAF Women’s Champions League qualification pathway.
Wednesday’s match therefore brings together an Ampem Darkoa Ladies side seeking to maintain its unbeaten run and a Dynamique FC team attempting to continue its recovery in the competition. The winners will secure the remaining place in the final against Edo Queens.
