Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare is thrilled to have returned to the top of the Belgian Pro League goalscoring charts, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Arokodare scored in Genk's 4-1 win over KAA Gent on Sunday, putting him level with St Truiden's Adriano Bertaccini.
Both players have scored 21 goals this season, with Arokodare netting 17 in the regular season and four in the Championship playoffs.
Bertaccini achieved his tally with 16 goals in the regular season and five in the playoffs.
Arokodare's goal has reignited his title chase, and he'll look to continue his impressive form as the season progresses.
It’s nice to be top scorer again,” Tolu told DAZN via Daily Post.
“I knew I wouldn’t start (the game). Of course, we have other players who deserve to play minutes in the Play-offs, so I could understand that choice.”
