Algeria v Niger: FAF brings forward friendly kick-off

Published on: 03 October 2026

The Algeria Football Federation (FAF) has moved the kick-off time for Algeria’s friendly against Niger on 6 October in Tizi-Ouzou.

The match was originally scheduled to begin at 20:30 Algeria time, or 21:30 in France. It will now start two hours and 30 minutes earlier, at 18:00 in Algeria and 19:00 in France, the FAF confirmed in a statement on Saturday.

Algeria are preparing for the fixture after opening their qualification campaign for CAN 2027 with a 3-1 victory over Zambia in Tizi-Ouzou on 25 September and a 2-2 draw away to Burundi four days later.

Ibrahim Maza, Anis Hadj Moussa, Mohamed Belloumi and Adil Boulbina all scored in those matches.

The Verts have won their past seven meetings with Niger, a run stretching back to 2003. However, Algeria are expected to make changes for the friendly, with several players unavailable.

Amine Gouiri, Anis Hadj Moussa, Adem Zorgane and Nabil Bentaleb are among those injured, while Rayan Ait-Nouri has been sent home from the squad for disciplinary reasons.

Brahim Hemdani is therefore expected to rotate his team and give opportunities to players hoping to establish themselves in the side.

Sohaib Nair, Zineddine Belaid, Abdelatif Ramdane and Adil Bourabaa are strongly tipped to receive playing time against Niger and use the match to demonstrate their ability.
