Akwuegbu joins NHS, starts Master’s at Anglia Ruskin

Former Super Eagles striker Benedict Akwuegbu has recently been appointed to a Temporary Staffing Bank position with the National Health Service (NHS), Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

As seen on BSNSports, this role, facilitated by the Recruitment Team of Central and North West London, involves Akwuegbu working alongside nurses and other healthcare professionals in managing and supporting patients with mental health concerns.

Akwuegbu, who enjoyed a successful career with the Nigerian national team, is well-regarded for his contributions to football and his commitment to community service. His tenure with the Super Eagles was marked by notable achievements, including his participation in key international tournaments, which established him as a significant figure in Nigerian football history.

In addition to his new role with the NHS, Akwuegbu has been recognized for his academic excellence at Anglia Ruskin University in London. As one of the university’s top achievers, he was honored with the position of Student Ambassador. In this role, he has been instrumental in supporting both new and existing students, as well as encouraging prospective students to join the university community.

Anglia Ruskin University has acknowledged Akwuegbu's contributions and academic prowess by offering him the opportunity to continue his education. He has been admitted to pursue a Master’s degree, with classes set to commence next week.
