The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Udom Gabriel Emmanuel has graciously picked up the cost of the match tickets of the CAF Confederations Cup final to enable Nigerian fans come out en masse.

The match tickets will be distributed to fans for free to enable them fill the stadium on Friday, May 20, 2022 when Orlando Pirates take on RS Berkane.

However, for security purposes interested fans have to pick up the tickets at designated venues on Wednesday and Thursday.

The LOC indicates that the tickets will be available for pick-up at all the ticket booths at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo in the Akwa Ibom State.

Fans can also get match tickets at the premises of all radio stations in the state as well as the club house of Akwa United.

This is the first intercontinental major cup final to be hosted in Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo since CAF took the decision that the final will be played once and not home and away in 2019.

The stadium is also home to Nigeria Professional Football League sides, Akwa United and Dakkada FC.

Last year, the Cup final was hosted in Cotonou, Benin where Morocco’s Raja Club Athletic beat Algerian side, JS Kabylie 2-1 to emerge champions.
