Super Eagles midfielder Akinsanmiro made his third appearance of the season as Monza were beaten 3-2 by Lecce in Serie A on Sunday.
The Nigerian international was replaced by Mout in the 83rd minute after an impressive display for the visitors. He is yet to register an assist this season.
Lecce established a two-goal lead inside the opening 10 minutes, with both goals coming from deliveries by Ivan Ilic.
The first arrived in the third minute, when Ilic’s whipped cross was headed in by Lassana Coulibaly. Seven minutes later, Tiago Gabriel rose highest at the back post to direct another Ilic delivery into the net.
Monza reduced the deficit in the 20th minute. Ricardo Mangas converted a high-value chance from close range to give the hosts a foothold in the match.
Their progress lasted only a minute, however, as Lecce restored their two-goal advantage. Danilo Veiga’s cross reached Coulibaly, who finished with his right foot for his second goal of the game.
The four-goal opening 21 minutes set up a tense second half, with Monza continuing to press in search of a way back into the contest.
They were rewarded in the 89th minute when Exequiel Zeballos scored to make it 3-2. Lecce, though, managed the closing stages effectively and held on for victory.
The result was secured by Lecce’s clinical finishing and disciplined work without the ball.
