Nigeria's Super Falcons are relishing the opportunity to return to the Olympic Games after a 16-year absence, captain Rasheedat Ajibade revealed, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The nine time African champions will make their Olympic comeback at the 2024 Paris Games, with veteran goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi the only current squad member with prior Olympic experience.
"We can't wait to step on the pitch in Paris," Ajibade told NFF TV.
"It's a dream come true for me and my teammates. Playing at the World Cup and now the Olympics is a huge achievement."
The Super Falcons will face a challenging Group C, with matches against Spain, Japan, and Brazil. Their campaign begins against Brazil in Bordeaux next Thursday.
Ajibade, who plays for Atletico Madrid, expressed the team's excitement and readiness for the tournament. "We're all pumped up and ready to go," she said.
