Angry Kotoko fans once again held their players hostage for over an hour after their latest defeat in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday in Dansoman.
It took the intervention of veteran midfielder Stephen Oduro and Burkinabe international Ahmed Toure to pop up through the team bus' window to beg the fans to come down.
Ahmed Toure fired the Porcupine Warriors ahead early in the first-half but Liberty snatched the equalizer in the 21st minute through Latif Blessing.
As Kotoko pushed for the equalizer, Alfred Nelson delivered the hammer blow by scoring the third three minutes into added time.
The results angered Kotoko fans who directed their tirade to the playing body, holding them hostage and threatening a possible confrontation until Oduro and Toure intervened.
Police officers were seen lined up to shield the players from a possible invasion by the fans.
Angry fans assaulted midfielder Owusu Jackson after Kotoko's defeat against New Edubiase United at the Accra Sports Stadium.
