Head coach of Rangers International, Gbenga Ogunbote, has taken a deep examination of his team in pre-season outings and now feels that they are inching ever closer to correctness ahead of the 2018 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.

The seven-time champions are currently in a closed door camping in Ijebu-Ode for their final phase of preparation that will run for a fortnight, according to the club's media.

After the first day of their programme on Friday, the former Enyimba and Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) coach told the players inside the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode where they had their first drills since arriving on Thursday that they have wormed their way into his heart.

He explained that he is impressed with the "output" of the players in camp and hopes they can sustain their present fitness levels into the new season.

"I must say that you have really impressed me with your output since we started this camping exercise. The level you are now is good and I believe that before we end the camping exercise, we would be at our best," ssaid Ogunbote.

The Flying Antelopes are expected to round off their pre-season camping by 10 January, four days ahead of the start of the new campaign.

Ogunbote and his men will begin the new season with an opening day trip to Uyo to face AITEO Cup holders Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
