African Goal Machine Odey To Undergo Celtic Medical: Report

Published on: 30 April 2017

Nigerian teenager Stephen Odey has been invited to have a medical at Celtic, according to a report.

All Nigeria Soccer claims that the 19-year-old will travel to Glasgow to undergo a ‘medical evaluation’ as part of a trial.

The MFM FC goal machine is currently top of the scoring charts in the Nigeria Professional Football League having found the net 14 times for his club.

All Nigeria Soccer report that Celtic will offer a contract to Odey if he impresses them in his time in Scotland.

However the Bhoys’ pursuit of Odey will not be easy as Scandinavian giants AIK Stockholm and FC Copenhagen are also keeping tabs on the striker.

Allnigeriasoccer.com also claims that a Copenhagen scout has been in contact with the players’ representatives ahead of a summer move.

Odey is currently being considered for a debut call-up to the Nigerian national team ahead of their African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in June.

He isn’t the only young Nigerian attacker being linked with a move to Parkhead, with Belgian league hot-shot Henry Onyekuru being subjected to offers from Celtic.

However that deal could now be dead in the water after the Sun on Sunday reported that Everton have moved ahead in the race to capture his signature.
