AFCON U23: Nigeria drawn bye in first stage

Nigeria U23 'Dream Team' have been given a bye in the first round of the qualifiers of the under 23 African Cup of Nations scheduled to hold next year in Cote D'Ivoire.

The draw ceremony held in Egypt sees the team in no action till the next round where they await the winner between Tanzania and South Sudan to know their second round opponent.

The Coach Salisu led team will play Guinea or Uganda in the final round of the qualifiers if they scale through the hurdle of second phase .

The second round games will come up on 21-30, October, 2022 as the final round of the qualifiers is slated for 20-28, March, 2023.

The U-23 AFCON qualifiers is a means to ensure qualification for not just the U-23, but also for the 2024 olympics .
