Young Teranga Lions of Senegal emerged as the champions of the U20 African Cup of Nations in Egypt in style with a 2-0 win over the Scorpion of Gambia.

The Senegalese started the game on the front foot and their effort paid off quickly as Soulemane Faye netted the opening goal earlier in the game.

The Gambia threatened to level up but the Senegalese proved to be formidable at the back and ensured the end of the first stanza with a 1-0 lead.

The second half resumed, and Gambia increased the intensity of the game and pegged back the Senegalese but was unable to get the required goal.

Towards the tail end of the game, Mamadou Camara sealed the game for the Young Terange Lions as they claimed the title without conceding a goal.
