Gent striker Ahmed Abdullahi will now join the Flying Eagles in Egypt for the U20 AFCON directly from his base in Belgium.

“Ahmed will join us in Egypt,” a top team official disclose to Nigeria soccernet.

Former Golden Eaglets star Ahmed Abdullahi is the only player who will be part of the final squad without being part of the training camp preparatory to the U20 AFCON.

The striker scored twice for the Flying in the qualifying tournament in Niger Republic last May.

He since transferred to Gent, who initially stopped the player from featuring at the U20 AFCON.

However, they later agreed to release him for the competition.

This past weekend, he was an unused sub for Gent in a thrilling 3-3 draw at Westerlo in the Belgian league.

The Flying Eagles will land in Egypt Thursday, a day after their final warm-up game against Central African Republic U20s in Morocco.
