Published on: 08 September 2024

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have departed for Kigali, Rwanda, ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tie against the Amavubi on Tuesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The team, led by caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen, left the Victor Attah Airport in Uyo on Sunday afternoon, fresh from their 3-0 victory over Benin Republic on Saturday.

The Super Eagles are scheduled to hold two training sessions in Kigali before facing the Amavubi at the Amahoro Stadium on Tuesday.

Rwanda, who drew 1-1 with Libya in their opening match, will provide a stern test for the three-time African champions.

The Super Eagles will be looking to build on their convincing win over Benin Republic, which saw Ademola Lookman score a brace and Victor Osimhen add a third goal.

A win in Kigali would put Nigeria in a strong position in Group C, with the team aiming to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
