Published on: 30 January 2024

Nigeria Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali in the African Cup of Nations going on in Cote D'Ivoire has returned to training this Tuesday, Nigeriasocceenet.com reports.

Nwabali whose fitness has been in doubt after sustaining an injury in the round of 16 clash against Cameroon did not train with the team in the first training on Monday after the round of 16 win.

A scan had been conducted on the Chippa United goalie on Monday who had trained alone in Abidjan and the result was expected on Tuesday.

The result showed he had a knock on his knee and that the injury was not serious, however a last minute decision by the medics will determine if he is good to go before the game on Friday.

The Super Eagles play the Palancas Negras on Friday at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan at 6pm Nigerian time.
