AFCON 2023: Jose Peseiro gives update on Nwabali's injury

Nigeria Super Eagles Coach Jose Peseiro has revealed that goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has had a scan in his injured leg and awaits the result on Monday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Chippa United goalkeeper trained alone as the team had its first training ahead of their quarter final clash against the Palancas Negras of Angola.

Nwabali who got injured in the game against Cameroon was seen walking round the pitch and doing some personal fitness alone.

Though Victor Osimhen and William Troost-Ekong were also not involved in training, but theirs for recovery purpose.

Super Eagles Coach Jose Peseiro spoke to journalist at the training ground to give update on Nwabali who he said had a scan on Monday and will be assessed again in two days time.

“He (Nwabali) did an MRI scan today (Monday), and we see it’s not a serious injury. We have to see what happens in the next two or three days if he gets better.”

“Whatever happens I believe in Frank, Ojo, and Ofcourse all players in the team.” Peseiro said.

The Super Eagles will trade tackles with the Palancas Negras of Angola on Friday February 2 at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan.
