Super Eagles striker, Ademola Lookman has ascribed his performance in the win over Cameroon in the round of 16 African Cup of Nations on Saturday to his teammates' brilliance, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
He scored twice to propel the West Africans to a 2-nil victory at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium to reach the last 8.
Lookman, who was named TotalEnergies Man of the Match, said: "Wow, we're so happy to qualify for the quarter-finals.
"The more we play together, the more fluid we become. I'm standing here now but this award reflects the whole team's performance."
Lookman spoke about his feeling of participating in the AFCON and acknowledges the impact of the fans in the team's progress.
"I love this atmosphere, it's incredible. Tonight our fans pushed us to the end because this was Cameroon, and when you wear the Super Eagles shirt, some games resonate more than others."
Up next for the Eagles in the quarter final is Angola who beat Namibia 3-0 earlier on Saturday and Lookman says they will take the game against the Palancas Negras as it comes.
"Angola are a good team. We'll analyze them and prepare. The further you go, the tougher it gets so we'll take it game by game."
The match between the Nigeria Super Eagles and the Black Sable antelopes will be played on Friday, February 2nd.
