Cameroon edged the Gambia 3-2 to finish second in group C after Senegal defeated Guinea 2-0, finishing with better goal difference to Guinea.
A cagey encounter in the first half which ended goalless came alive with a dramatic last 10 minutes.
Karl Toko-Ekambi opened score in the 56th minute to give Cameroon the lead to kick start a pulsating match.
Gambia equalised in the 72nd minute through Ablie Jallow while Ebrima Colley's feet scored what seemed a perfect comeback.
However, the spectators were in for a breathtaking end as Cameroon equalized straight away with an own goal 2 minutes later.
It was Cameroon who turned the game on its head as Christopher Wooh scored a header from a resulting corner 1 minute after 90 minutes to send the Central African fans to a frenzy.
The goal gave Cameroon their first 3 points of the tournament as set up a tie with Nigeria in the round of 16.
