Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu is gutted by the opening Group C defeat to Senegal on Monday.
The Black Stars were unable to hold onto an early lead to lose 2-1 to Senegal in the opening Group C game of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Mongomo.
Ghana even went ahead to create descent chances and could have wrapped up the game early enough had they not been wasteful in front of goal after taking the lead.
The defeat now leaves the team with an uphill task as they now have to win the remaining group games against Algeria and South Africa to survive in the tournament.
Agyemang-Badu laid out his bitter disappointment after the game.
“We are very disappointed, we came here to make our nation proud but unfortunately for us we couldn’t make it,” he told MTNFootball.com.
“We are so sad and disappointed that we conceded such a difficult goal like this but what can we do?
“We still have to keep going and see what the good Lord will do for us on Friday.”
