AFCON 2015: Ghana desperately await results of tests on Asamoah Gyan injury
Avram Grant will be waiting to see if his key player Asamoah Gyan will be ready to face Equatorial Guinea

Ghana are desperately awaiting the results from the MRI scan on injured star Asamoah Gyan to determine whether he will be available for Thursday's semi-final clash against hosts Equatorial Guinea at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Gyan arrived in the Equatorial Guinea town of Mongomo Monday to check the extent of a hip injury ahead of an African Cup of Nations semi-final with the hosts.

A Ghanaian official confirmed that the 29-year-old striker and captain of the Black Stars flew from capital Malabo to the eastern town because the hospital there can perform MRI scans.

United Arab Emirates-based Gyan injured his hip Sunday after being fouled deep in stoppage time by Guinea goalkeeper Naby Yattara, who was red-carded for the offence.

Gyan missed the opening group game against Senegal in mid-January owing to a mild bout of malaria, then struck a stoppage-time winner past Algeria four days later.

He did not score in the victory over South Africa that secured Ghana top place in Group C, nor did he find the net in a three-goal quarter-final humbling of Guinea.

Ghana face giant-killers Equatorial Guinea in Malabo Thursday -- 24 hours after the first semi-final in port city Bata pits the Democratic Republic of Congo against Ivory Coast.

.. Thank you coach Grant...This guy should not only be banned but he needs to be charged with assault because it is sports and not a fight. This is a deliberate, intentional, premeditated kicking below the belt[Even boxing frowns on below the belt]. How much more Sports and for that matter soccer. We are in the 21st Century so this colonial mentality of wickedness needs to be eradicated from the African soil. CAF must punish goalkeeper Naby Yaltara to serve as a deterrent to others and also to show the World that they are matured to protect African talents.

According to information coming from Mongomo on Asamoah's MRI tests, his balls and cock where badly damaged. He will soon be flown to Madrid for the possible amputation of both cock and balls by specialised Spanish doctors.

Don't rush Gyan to face Eq Guinea. Groin injuries sometimes can be career threatening. Fly him to Pretoria or Lusaka to seek for groin treatment from our Southern african doctors who are experts when it comes to groin. I can assure you he will return back fit to Eq Guinea and be available for selection on Saturday in 2015 afcon 3rd place play offs.

Can't we at least have decorous discourse on this platform? must we always bring along the "Chorkor-Zongo" life here. Remember, this is a good platform to sell Ghana to countless multitudes. if we are not satisfied with the way our politicians use 'foul' language our our media fora, then we the lovers of the round leather game could, as it were, show the light by our tolerant comments and acceptance of each others views, no matter how divergent. Anyway, kudos to the Stars and the man in "BLUE''. So far, so good. keep burning hot like Daavi's coal pot.
