Ademola Lookman on Unapproved Spain Break as Atalanta-Inter Transfer Standoff Drags

Published on: 09 August 2025

Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman has taken a personal trip to Spain amid growing tension with Atalanta, who recently rejected a £46 million bid from Inter Milan for the winger, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.

Lookman is believed to have agreed personal terms with Inter, but Atalanta are holding out for £50 million and insist any domestic move must be to a top foreign club, a stance agreed last season. Despite no fresh offer from the Nerazzurri, the 2023 African Player of the Year is still in contact with them.

Reports say the trip was made without Atalanta’s formal approval, adding to the uncertainty over his future. While Premier League side Arsenal have been offered his services, Lookman is understood to be prioritising a move to Inter.

The 26-year-old was pivotal for Atalanta last season, registering over 20 goal contributions in all competitions.
