Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman will not take part in the last AFCON qualifying match between Nigeria and Rwanda following a slight injury, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Atalanta BC star man did not train with the rest of the squad on Friday evening after it was revealed he suffered a knock in the game against Benin Republic that ended 1-1, leaving him a doubt for Monday's encounter.

Super Eagles coach, Austin Eguavoen has now revealed that the CAF African Footballer of the Year nominee had "pleaded" to be excused from the game against Rwanda on Monday.

"He is slightly hurt and can't play...he said that he is at 70%," Eguavoen said, adding that he was the one who gave him (Lookman) permission to return to his club Atalanta.

Lookman joins the Ola Aina who also left the team's camp back to his club, Nottingham Forest following a request from the club and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali who was excused for family reasons after the loss of his father.

Nigeria sealed qualification for the African football showpiece before playing Benin Republic.

The game between the Super Eagles and Rwanda comes up on Monday at the Godswil Akpabio International Stadium.
