Adamo Nagalo will not play for PSV again this season because of a medical problem, according to Dutch newspapers Eindhovens Dagblad and De Telegraaf.
The Burkina Faso international’s condition also contributed to the collapse of a proposed move to FK Corum in Turkey. PSV are now seriously considering terminating his contract, which has three years remaining.
De Telegraaf said there was currently no clear information about the nature of Nagalo’s problem. PSV have declined to comment on his health, citing the defender’s right to privacy.
What is known is that the 22-year-old will be unavailable for the rest of the campaign. He had already been used sparingly by manager Peter Bosz, including during periods when he was fully fit.
Nagalo joined PSV from Nordsjaelland in mid-2024 for seven million euros. Despite the significant fee, the right-footed defender has been unable to establish himself in the team.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at Konyaspor in Turkey before returning to Eindhoven this summer. PSV had hoped to arrange a permanent transfer, but that plan did not materialise, partly because of an unspecified injury.
Nagalo is no longer included in the first-team squad list on PSV’s official website and was absent from the team photograph taken this week. Both Eindhovens Dagblad and De Telegraaf report that ending his contract is now a serious possibility.
His time at PSV therefore appears to be nearing its conclusion. Since arriving at the club, Nagalo has made only 12 appearances.
