AC Milan have decided to offload Ghana duo Sulley Muntari and Michael Essien at the end of the season, according to reports in Italy.

Essien who arrived from Chelsea last January is out of contract at the end of the current campaign.

Milan have decided against renewing the midfielder’s contract due to his high wage demands according to Calciomercato.

The Italian giants are looking to clear their wage roster with the departure of Essien who could move to the MLS.

Milan will however need to find a buyer for Sulley Muntari whose existing deal ends in 2016.

The former Inter Milan’s behaviour behind the scenes – especially at training – has been considered not good enough worthy of a Rossoneri.

His violent reaction to his substitution in last weekend’s game against Torino is considered to be the final straw that broke the camel’s back.

The possible exits of Essien and Muntari will mean there will be no Ghanaian at AC Milan except for the return of youngster Kingsley Boateng from NAC Breda.

Milan unexpectedly sold Kevin-Prince Boateng to Schalke in 2013 to free up their wage roster.
