The fight for the top six in the Nigeria Women Football League continued to gather momentum in group A after second place, Remo Stars Ladies and Nasarawa Amazons dropped points in their match day 12 games, NigeriaSoccernet.com reports.

Ekiti Queens played a 2-2 draw with Nasarawa Amazons at Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, as the Amazons' top-six ambition was put on pause on Wednesday.

Jenat Akekoromowei put the visitors in the lead as early as the 7th minute of action, as Nasarawa took the lead in the first half.

Zaniab Ismail, however, restored parity for the hosts after 57 minutes before she scored a brace to give Ekiti the lead three minutes later.

Hembafan Ayatsea 63 equalised for the visitors on 63 minutes to set up a delicate, poised end. At the final whistle, the score remained unchanged as it ended 2-2.

Remo Stars Ladies had to come from behind in Owerri to get a draw against Heartland Queens at the Dan Ayam Stadium.

A beautiful long-range effort by Onyiyechi Kalu in the 36th minute put the home side in the lead before Bolaji Olamide leveled for the visitors with her 10th goal of the season two minutes before regulation time.

Abia Angels, for their part, got a crucial win that may prove vital in qualifying for Super Six.

The Abia State side defeated struggling Confluence Queens by a goal to nil courtesy of a goal by Winner Onajite on 88 minutes in Anyigba, Kogi.

Reigning champions of the league, Edo Queens, continued their stronghold in the group with a 3-1 win over Dannaz Ladies in Benin.

Mary Anjor opened the scoring 3 minutes before doubling the lead 11 minutes later. The scoreline became 3-0 after Chioma Moses scored on 24 minute as Edo Queens ended the first half with a comfortable lead.

Rosemary Okorie pulled one back for the Lagos side on 66 minutes, but it was a consolation as the encounter ended in favour of the hosts.
