Keyliane Abdallah marked his first Europa League start by scoring for Marseille in their match against Besiktas.

The 20-year-old forward was selected on the right wing by Bruno Genesio and made an immediate impact, scoring his first goal in the competition for OM. The Comorian, who came through Marseille’s academy, brought his side level in the 30th minute.

According to Stats Foot, Abdallah, aged 20 years and five months, is now Marseille’s youngest Europa League goalscorer since Maxime Lopez found the net against Vitoria Guimaraes in 2017, when he was 19 years and 10 months old.

The milestone came on a significant night for Abdallah, whose first Europa League appearance from the start could prove important in his development with Marseille.
