Ndidi cleared to face DR Congo in World Cup Playoff Final

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is eligible to play against the Democratic Republic of Congo in Sunday's 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff final, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Ndidi, who received a yellow card in Nigeria's 4-1 win over Gabon on Thursday, had been in doubt for the crucial match.

However, CAF has ruled that cautions accumulated during the World Cup qualifiers do not carry over into the playoffs, making Ndidi available for selection.

The decision is a major boost for Nigeria, with Ndidi's experience and leadership expected to be crucial in the team's bid to qualify for the World Cup.

The Super Eagles will face the Leopards of DR Congo on Sunday, with a ticket to the intercontinental playoffs on the line.
