Closed-camp Friendly: Super Eagles to play local side in camp before playing Guniea

The Super Eagles in preparation for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Côte d’Ivoire, will two tune-up games in Abu Dhabi behind closed doors, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Nigeria will take on a local side in their first game on Sunday before taking on another AFCON 2023 participant, Guinea, in their second and final build-up game on Monday.

The two matches will kick off at 4 pm local time (1 pm Nigerian time).

Both Nigeria and Guniea have been in the Middle East for almost a week now and as they bring their camping to a close, the two coaches will be testing how much of their technical patterns haven properly digested.

The Super Eagles on it Twitter (now X) account announced the friendly to be played on Monday by 4pm at the Bank Yash Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

José Peseiro’ team are in Group A alongside the hosts, Côte d’Ivoire, Guniea-Bissau and Equitorial Guniea.

The Syli Stars ion the other hand are in Group C alongside Cameroon, Senegal, and Gambia.
