Nigeria's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin Republic have hit a snag as two key midfielders, Raphael Onyedika and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, are doubtful due to injury, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Onyedika, a defensive midfielder for Club Brugge, was forced off after just 16 minutes in the team's Belgian Pro League clash with Westerlo on Wednesday night, grabbing his hamstring.
The 24-year-old now faces a fitness test ahead of Nigeria's upcoming qualifiers.
Dele-Bashiru, who plays for Lazio, is also in doubt after picking up a muscle injury in the club's 1-0 loss to AS Roma last week.
Both players' absences would be significant blows to the Super Eagles' midfield options ahead of the crucial World Cup qualifiers.
