Super Eagles midfielder, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has revealed his disappointment in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Africa, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Fisayo in the 1-1 draw against the Bafana Bafana was roughly tackled few minutes after he got his equalizer leading to his early substitution from the foul.
The referee however looked away without awarding a penalty. This Dele-Bashiru claimed he felt it was a penalty.
“In the moment, I felt it was a penalty, it was a very hard tackle and I still have marks on my leg from the tackle.” Fisayo told Punch correspondent.
“In games like that, I feel there should be VAR and that should help the referees make the right decisions.”
