Sevilla FC has extended congratulations to Nigerian striker Jerome Akor Adams on his first-ever call-up to the Super Eagles, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Adams was named in the 23-man squad for Nigeria's crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin Republic.

The Spanish club took to social media to felicitate with the 24-year-old striker, posting: "Congrats to Akor Adams who has been called up by Nigeria for the first time!"

This development marks a significant milestone in Adams' career, who has previously represented Nigeria at the U-20 level.

Adams' inclusion in the squad is seen as a boost to Nigeria's attacking options, particularly with his recent form, including scoring a crucial winner for Sevilla against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.

The Super Eagles will face Lesotho on October 10 and Benin Republic on October 14 in their quest for World Cup qualification.
