Ademola Lookman has insisted he feels no additional pressure to win the 2024 CAF Men's Player of the Year award, despite being one of the top contenders, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Atalanta forward is among 10 nominees for the prestigious honour, following an remarkable year for club and country.
His outstanding records for the year under review place Lookman above his peers, however, the former Leicester City man shows no sign of pressure.
"I don't think I am feeling additional pressure," Lookman told 54footballx.
"I think I have kept the same mindset; I have kept the same work ethic. I am just trying to do my best, do my best on the pitch."
Lookman emphasized his focus on continuous improvement, saying: "I think I try to improve every single day, and you know if I can win the award, it would be special most definitely for me, my family, my people, my country, but that is the future. The future will come. Now, I need to focus on doing my best."
The Nigeria international earlier this year at the AFCON help his country finished second, scoring three goals.
