Ghana coach, Avram Grant predicts good days ahead of his team after the Black Stars mauled Mauritius 7-1 in the Group H opener of the qualifiers for the Gabon 2017 African Cup of Nations in Accra on Sunday.
The four-time African champions overwhelmed the visitors with an avalanche of goals scored by five different players, and Grant told Cafonline.com after the match that “I am sure that we will have many good days.
“The players did very well, the movement was good and they also made very good passes. We scored goals in the first half and then in the second half, I do not know why but we slowed down.
“This performance is what I expected from the team; that on the pitch and not on paper people will see the difference between us and the opponents.”
On his opponents who have lost all their last ten matches, the trainer said “They (Mauritius) played very well, they gave us a fight but we were much better.”
He added “in the beginning, we told Ghanaians we will do everything to make them happy. I think now it is going very well. Sometimes not good but we will always try our best for them."
The match was Grants' first qualifier at home since his appointment to the helm last year.
