2017 AFCON: Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah suffers injury in Black Stars training, set for scan

Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah suffered injury while training with the Black Stars ahead of the 2017 Nations Cup qualifier against Mauritius.

The England-based striker will undergo further tests on Friday after he missed the day's training session in the town of Dodowa.

The Crystal Palace attacker has been sent for a scan to determine the severity of the knock he picked during Thursday's training session at the JMG Academy facility.

"Kwesi Appiah misses today's training after suffering a knock ystday. He is having tests with doctors this afternoon," the Ghana FA wrote on Twitter on Friday afternoon.

The 24-year-old will know the extent of damage after today's scan, which will determine his involvement in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritius.

Appiah became the poster boy for Ghana on his debut when he excelled for the Africans at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
