Wikki Tourists striker, Mubarak Umar believes the team did well in the recently concluded Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.

Goals from Samuel Chukwudi and Umar proved crucial as the MA Boys defeated Sunshine Stars 2-0 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium to end the campaign in third place.

Wikki Tourists finished third on the log with 57 points from a possible 108.

Umar noted that the players gave their best and took positives from the fact that they created lots of chances in all their games.

“We played very well in all the matches. The best thing is that we created lots of chances in the games,” Umar told Goal.

“Everybody showed great discipline and commitment and I am proud of what we achieved.

“Half bread is better than none. We can take consolation with a place in the CAF Confederation Cup. I must admit it is a lesson to us all after topping the table at some stage during the season.

“Many people had expected us to win the title but we somehow missed the chance.”
