Viareggio Cup: Beyond Limit progress to quarter final

Beyond Limits booked their place in the quarter-final of the Viareggio Cup World Football tournament in Italy after beating Avellino in Tuesday's encounter Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Beyonce Limit won the tie 3-1 against Avellino at the Marina Di Masa/Campo Sportivo "Rictola" to continue their impressive performance at the tournament which has seen them won all their matches.

Coach Olumide Ajibolade made one change to the side that defeated Fiorentina as Kparobo Arierhi came in place of Shina Ayodele.

The Nigerian team dominated play and it was a matter of time before it opened score 18 minutes into the game. Isaac Chukwudi laid the ball for Ganiyu Adio, who crossed at first instinct with Avellino'a defender Lanzone diverting the ball into their own net.

It could have been more for Beyond Limit, but the boys could not make their dominance count as goalkeeper Greljak kept Avellino in the game with double saves from Olamilekan Adegboyega and Kparobo Arierhi towards the end of the first half.

Beyond Limit resumed the second half with great spirit scoring 2 minutes into the half through Isaac Chukwudi

Palamara scored to reduce the deficit for Avellino 3 minutes later, giving the hope of a comeback.

Favour Aputaziem had to make a crucial save in the 88 minute to deny Avellino the equalizer.

However, at 90 and 3 minutes, Shina Ayodele controlled perfectly in the box to slam beyond the goalkeeper to seal the win and qualify Beyond Limit for the last 8 of the tournament.

They play Torino FC in the quarter final.
