U-20 AFCON: Egypt prepare for Flying Eagles with Zambia friendly

The U-20 national team of Egypt are set to play a preparatory friendly a day after they were drawn in group A with the Flying Eagles of Nigeria for the U-20 AFCON, Nigeriasoccernet.com have gathered.

The young Pharaohs have a double legged warm up match against another AFCON team, Zambia as they set to chase to win the trophy they last won in 2013 when the tournament begins.

Egypt, who are four times champions of the tournament are currently in camp ahead of the U-20 African Cup of Nations which is slated for 19th February to 21st March, 2023.

The draw held on Friday in Cairo, Egypt pitched Egypt, host nation against the Flying Eagles of Nigeria, young Lions of Senegal and Mozambique in a group that many have described as a "group of death".

The top two teams from the three groups will qualify for the quarterfinals, while the two third best losers will also advance.

The four semifinalists will qualify for the 2023 U20 World Cup to be hosted by Indonesia in May.
