The Nigeria's Super Eagles, have received a significant morale boost as captain, William Troost-Ekong returns to training ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying double-header against South Africa and Benin.  Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Troost-Ekong, who had been sidelined since undergoing surgery for an injury sustained at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, is now back in action.

Despite initial expectations of missing the remainder of the 2023/24 season, the defender has made a swift recovery, making himself available for PAOK Salonica’s last three league games of the season.

Troost-Ekong's return is eagerly anticipated by fans, especially as the Super Eagles are yet to secure a win in the qualifiers.
