Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Antoine Griezmann to Manchester United

Jose Mourinho is ready to revive interest in the Atletico Madrid forward, according to ESPN's Mark Ogden. Diego Costa's return to Atleti from Chelsea has increased the chances of United weighing up a new offer for the Frenchman. Griezmann was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer but opted to stay at the La Liga club following FIFA's confirmation of Atletico's transfer ban, which prevents them from registering new players until January 2018. Griezmann claimed it would be a "dirty move to leave now," but it is believed that he still an admirer of the Premier League club.

Antonio Candreva to Chelsea

Candreva's wayward form has intensified talk of a possible exit from Inter Milan and Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is interested in securing his services, according to Calciomercato.com. The 30-year-old winger, mainly deployed by Luciano Spalletti on the right wing, has not mirrored the excellent form of Ivan Perisic and was booed off as he left the pitch during Inter's 1-0 win against Genoa on Sunday. However, Candreva enjoyed a stellar campaign last year, and Conte believes he could be a valuable asset to him at Stamford Bridge.

Paulo Dybala to Real Madrid

There is something of an unwritten rule that spectacular emerging talents on the continent will be linked with a move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona and Dybala is no different. Manchester United are also said to be interested in the Juventus star, who has scored 10 goals in six games in Serie A this season, cementing his place as one of the most coveted players in Europe. According to Mundo Deportivo, Real president Florentino Perez will push for a move next summer, but will likely face stiff competition from United. The Premier League side are said to have already tabled an offer for the 23-year-old, who signed a new long-term contract at Juventus earlier this year.

Edinson Cavani to Chelsea

The Paris Saint-Germain striker has been tipped to replace Costa at Stamford Bridge. Cavani was involved in a public bust-up with Neymar over penalty duties at the Parc des Princes which has reportedly prompted the Uruguayan to reconsider his future. Napoli, AC Milan, Everton and Borussia Dortmund have also expressed an interest in the 30-year-old, who scored a whopping 49 goals in 50 games for the Ligue 1 club last season.

Kevin Gameiro to Everton

While signing Cavani may well be out of Everton's reach, plotting a move for Kevin Gameiro seems much more realistic. The 30-year-old's position at Atletico Madrid may be under threat following Costa's arrival and could be just the poacher to get Ronald Koeman's Toffees firing. Gameiro, who has also had spells with Sevilla and Paris Saint-Germain, scored 16 goals in 42 appearances for Diego Simeone's side last season and would certainly offer Everton a different dimension in attack.
