Thierry Henry Thinks Sadio Mane Could Be a Player of the Year Contender

Thierry Henry believes that Liverpool's Sadio Mane could be a Player of the Year contender come the end of the season.

Mane has been in electric form so far and has yet to taste defeat this season as he didn't play in the defeat by Burnley earlier in the season.

Henry, speaking to Sky Sports, via "?HITC Sport, said, "Mane could be the Premier League's Player of the Year. He does everything with a purpose, he uses his brain. People forget about that, it's not only running fast, he has control of the ball when he runs and he will give you an assist, he will give you some goals."

"He looks like a Liverpool player, the fans will love him. I think at the end of the season he won't be far from being one of the best players of the season."?

Not only is Sadio Mane astounding in attack, but his defensive work shouldn't go unnoticed. Constantly chasing back.

Mane has been particularly impressive this season and put in another shift during the win over Chelsea on Friday. His performances have earned him plenty of plaudits during the opening weeks of the season and Henry believes that he can continue these performances for the rest of the season.

Mane has already scored twice in the opening weeks of the season and his pace is likely to terrorise defences for the rest of the season if he can stay fit.

He has linked up very effectively with Nathaniel Clyne down the right and his impressive work rate off the ball has seen him adapt to the pressing game that Klopp constantly demands of his players.
