The 28-year-old has been frozen out of the team after the side’s 2-0 defeat against Cologne on Sunday which has crippled their European ambitions.

Schalke officials have insisted there is no way back for the suspended Ghanaian international and manager Horst Heldt has revealed the former AC Milan star was a negative influence.

“Prince tends to oversee his own mistakes and search for them in others. He had stopped helping the team while dragging everybody down. There is no chance for a comeback at Schalke. This thing is done,” he said.

“The relationship of trust with Boateng and Sam is gone”, said Heldt, “And for Höger, we have doubts about his loyalty. He will have the chance to think about that for a week.”

Dortmund have been linked with a move for the outcast while Turkish side Galatasaray have reignite their talks to sign him.
