German side Augsburg have received an €18 million offer from Italian side Roma for Chelsea target Baba Rahman, according to a report in Germany.

Rahman, 21, has been linked with a summer transfer and ESPN FC sources have confirmed Chelsea's interest in the defender.

According to Suddeutsche, Roma have bid €18m to release Rahman from his contract at Augsburg, with the newspaper reporting that Chelsea have yet to make an official offer.

The Ghana international's agent, Sascha Empacher, said: "There will be no hasty transfer."

Oliver Schlegl, another of Rahman's agents, added: "Baba feels comfortable at Augsburg. He does not have to make a move. He can very well stay at Augsburg for another year."

Augsburg's sporting director Stefan Reuter said: "Of course we are talking about Baba but there is nothing concrete at the moment. The player has not approached me to tell me he wants to leave.

"I hope to keep our squad together, at the moment I assume that Baba will stay."

Rahman joined Augsburg from Greuther Furth in 2014 for a reported fee of €2 million and is under contract until 2019.

Club president Klaus Hofmann is looking for a fee of over €20 million for Rahman.
